Halloween
This Halloween was definitely an exciteing one. Ours started a night early on Monday night. We were carving our pumpkins for Family Night and everybody was having fun. Brooke and I did a princess pumpkin for her (we’ll send you a picture) and it turned out really well. After we finished, the boys were finishing up on theirs and Brooke got her small little pumpkin (the really small ones that are really hard and should not/cannot be carved). She had already drawn a face on it, but decided she wanted to carve it also. Neither Emily or I saw her pick up the little paring knife (you know the small ones that are like a razor blade with a handle?). Well, she tried to cut into that pumpkin of her’s, and the blade glanced off it and sliced right into the underside of her wrist. I ran her to the emergency room where the bleeding stopped and she was being really brave. When we finally got a bed, they came in to give her a shot to numb it and she didn’t like that at all!!! A little while later the doctor came into stitch it up and after Brooke started screaming again, we realized that the shot had not numbed her up enough. So she got another shot and got her stitches. She ended up getting 5 stitches. After the bandage was put on she was ready to get out of that hospital. She takes after her mother and her father in that aspect. She is feeling fine now, and is now a part of the infamous "stitches club" that both her brothers are in!
