Teeth and graduation

A couple of days ago, Brooke lost her second tooth.  Where it was solid the day before, it was falling out that evening.  Her teeth seem to go from solid to out in a matter of hours.

Last night, Bryce graduated from Kindergarten.  It was a fun little ceremony.  Here is Bryce with his teacher Mrs. Phillips.

Brooke’s Tooth

Last Sunday, actually a week ago Sunday (I’m a little behind here), Brooke lost her first tooth.  She got her first note and cash from the Tooth Fairy and she was very excited.  She loves sticking her tongue through the gap in her teeth.

It’s that time of year again.  Preschool graduation.  Emily had a very fun class this year, but even after so much fun, it’s nice to have a summer vacation.

Brooke’s Birthday

March 29th was Brooke’s 5th birthday.  It was a fun day celebrating our special Brooke.  Here are some of the pictures of the day’s activities.

Here is the birthday girl with her cake.

Snow White a.k.a. Brooke and most of her presents.  One of which was 3 wigs for Snow White, Areial, and Cinderella.

Girl’s Bunk Bed

We have been planning on getting a bunk bed for the girls but have been putting it off due to the high price.  But we noticed a neighbor put theirs up for sale and we bought it for $25.  It is used and has some scratches, but it’s a nice one.  It’s a really nice for as much as we paid for it! :-)

Yes, that is a board in front of Brooke because we don’t have the right size mattress right now, that will come later.  Brinnley is still in her litttle bed (on the right) and the boxspring for Brooke’s current mattress is on the top as a little play area.

Christmas Tree

For Family Night last Monday we put up our Christmas tree.  It was extra fun this year because the kids did most of the work on it.  They were responsible for putting all the colored lights on and putting all the ornaments on.

New Girl’s Room

We used some of our time this weekend to transform the boy’s old room (since they moved down to the basement) to the girls new room.  Emily picked out the colors with some help from the girls.  Here’s a before picture.

Here are some "after" pictures.

Here is a close-up of the dots that were part of Emily’s vision of the girls room.

Loose Tooth

Last night was an eventful one for Bryce.  He has had a loose tooth for awhile now, and he really started working at it last night.  Emily tried pulling it out but she couldn’t get a grip on it.  I even gave Bryce a pair of needle-nose pliers and he tried using those, but it didn’t work.  So, we sent him off to bed.  A little while later he came bounding down the stairs saying he got his tooth out.  He had taken a little "Rescue Hero’s" shark and popped it out.  Here is a picture of Bryce with his gap and the loot from the tooth fairy.

Here is a picture with the shark that he used.

And here is a picture of little Brooke with her stitches.  She is a brave little girl.

Halloween

This Halloween was definitely an exciteing one. Ours started a night early on Monday night.  We were carving our pumpkins for Family Night and everybody was having fun.  Brooke and I did a princess pumpkin for her (we’ll send you a picture) and it turned out really well.  After we finished, the boys were finishing up on theirs and Brooke got her small little pumpkin (the really small ones that are really hard and should not/cannot be carved).  She had already drawn a face on it, but decided she wanted to carve it also.  Neither Emily or I saw her pick up the little paring knife (you know the small ones that are like a razor blade with a handle?).  Well, she tried to cut into that pumpkin of her’s, and the blade glanced off it and sliced right into the underside of her wrist.  I ran her to the emergency room where the bleeding stopped and she was being really brave.  When we finally got a bed, they came in to give her a shot to numb it and she didn’t like that at all!!!  A little while later the doctor came into stitch it up and after Brooke started screaming again, we realized that the shot had not numbed her up enough.  So she got another shot and got her stitches.  She ended up getting 5 stitches.  After the bandage was put on she was ready to get out of that hospital.  She takes after her mother and her father in that aspect.  She is feeling fine now, and is now a part of the infamous "stitches club" that both her brothers are in!
