Teeth and graduation

A couple of days ago, Brooke lost her second tooth.  Where it was solid the day before, it was falling out that evening.  Her teeth seem to go from solid to out in a matter of hours.

Last night, Bryce graduated from Kindergarten.  It was a fun little ceremony.  Here is Bryce with his teacher Mrs. Phillips.

Arizona Trip

Bryce and I flew down to Arizona on Wednesday eveing and drove back with our new Suburban on Saturday.  We had a great time.  Bryce even got to go up into the cockpit of the airplane before we took off.  I didn’t think they did that anymore after 9/11, so it was extra special.  Bryce spent time with all of his grandparents and had lots of fun.  I had fun cleaning up the Suburban and even hooking it up to Mom and Dad Layton’s trailer to see how well it would pull it.  I didn’t have a camera, so these are all the pictures I have.

While we were gone, the restoration people kept working on the bathrooms.  Here is a picture of the floor with the tile all done.

Christmas Tree

For Family Night last Monday we put up our Christmas tree.  It was extra fun this year because the kids did most of the work on it.  They were responsible for putting all the colored lights on and putting all the ornaments on.

All I want for Christmas …

Just a couple days ago Bryce lost his other front tooth.  Now all he wants for Christmas is his two front teeth!!  Does anybody have some they can spare??? :-)

Wrestling

The boys attended the big wrestling tournament last night.  They each wrestled 3 matches and each won one.  They both got third place in their division.  They have really improved over last year and are both having lots of fun wrestling.

Bunk Beds

Well, we finally got the bunk beds moved into the boy’s room down in the basement yesterday.  They have been sleeping on their mattresses the past couple of days down there.  It looks great.  I’ll try to post a picture of it later.

It’s nice to have a bigger room now.  With the bunk beds and the desks, there is still plenty of room for the boy’s to have space in their room.  It’s really nice.

The next project is to paint the boy’s old room and move the girls into it.  It’s larger than the one the girls are in now.  We will keep you updated on our progress.

The impossible puzzle

When Papa and Grandma Layton came up for Brenden baptism, they gave the kids a puzzle that was said to be the hardest puzzle to solve.  It consists of 9 pieces that interconnect and must fit together in a 3 X 3 fashion.  Papa and Grandma Layton worked on it, Emily and I worked on it and it seemed like everybody took a turn trying to figure it out.  Well, Sunday afternoon I came home for lunch before church started and Emily told me that the boys had figured it out.  Here is the proof.

Here are the two seriously smart kids who figured this out.

The adults couldn’t make sense of this puzzle, but it didn’t take too long for these two to figure it out!

Desks are installed

Well, after months of slowly working away at the desks, they are finally done.  The boys and I completed the re-finishing of the desks a week ago and last Saturday (11th) we installed them.  Here are some pictures that show our progress.

Loose Tooth

Last night was an eventful one for Bryce.  He has had a loose tooth for awhile now, and he really started working at it last night.  Emily tried pulling it out but she couldn’t get a grip on it.  I even gave Bryce a pair of needle-nose pliers and he tried using those, but it didn’t work.  So, we sent him off to bed.  A little while later he came bounding down the stairs saying he got his tooth out.  He had taken a little "Rescue Hero’s" shark and popped it out.  Here is a picture of Bryce with his gap and the loot from the tooth fairy.
